6. Cambridge Assessment and Proficiency Tests- external examination

PLACEMENT TEST
>> Design to enable teachers to place new students into the correct class accourding to their language ability. To gauge language level of the student
PROGRESS TEST
>> Should be done periodically to gauge what language has been remembered and what language has been forgotten.
DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
>> Basically similar in content to placement tests and are sometimes more extensive. Given at the start of the course to see what the students already know
PRACTICE TESTS
>> Should follow the format and the structure of external examination that they are being given.
