Lesson planning is a difficult skill without knowing the intended outcome that you are trying to achieve. Lesson plans should be flexible and include student's current level, areas where they are not in full understanding, and a list of ways to improve their skills. A successful lesson plan has activities and lessons that will keep students actively engaged from the beginning of the class to the end. Best to have any work printed out and ready for students before the class begins. The board is also important. When it is time to fill in information, have students come up and write the information on the board for the class. Give every student a chance to shine if there is time. Turn every sentence they say and thought they have into the grammar centered part of the lesson. Show them the reason they should be using this particular grammar tense and help them to write sentences in some sort of fashion either with vocabulary or the writing assignment for the week. This kind of multi-level bridging helps build a scaffolding model the teacher can use for future lessons. The sample lessons are terrific with their numerous activities, but fail to point out their function in the lesson, which teachers should always have in mind before they start any kind of lesson.
