Conditional statements are phrases with two clauses, where the conditional action is lead with the word 'if/when' and the consequence is stated normally, and either clause can be first. The there are 5 conditional tenses. Zero conditional refers to indisputable facts, first conditional refer to real future conditions that can be met, second conditional refers to present or future conditions that will never or likely never come true, and third conditional is a hypothetical past action that were not completed. Lastly, there are mixed conditionals, where the most common one is a mix of second and third conditional.
How speech can be report depends on what tense the direct speech is made in. There are many different changes to tenses of verbs, as well and prepositions for time. Also, 'will' specifically changes to 'would', and there are other exceptions to rule overall. When teaching reported speech, it is important to do each tense of reporting one at time and slowly since there can be many confusions or mixups that arise for the students. Lastly, pronouns are changed depending on the context, so there is not way to report the speech from the dialogue without the context.
