This unit covered the various forms of the present tense: future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future prefect continuous, 'going to' future and the present simple and continuous with future meaning. Like the other tense units given in this lesson, each one discussed the formation of each tense for affirmative, negative, and question forms, the usages for each, and the varied teaching ideas one could implement.
This lesson was different with its addition of three more tenses: the 'going to' future and the two present tenses mentioned above. The GTF looks like the present continuous, but differs in that with the present continuous, you form with [be + verb+ing] and GTF is [going to + base form]. For example, it's the difference between "I am going to town" and "I am going to love you".
The other present tenses were included as they can have a future meaning. For example, a present sentence could say, "The plane for Dublin leaves at 8:00" which would refer to a time in the future although the tense is technically present. The same goes with present continuous. You can have a sentence that says something like, "She is flying to Rome tomorrow". Technically, a present tense but with a future meaning.
