The material in this chapter is very important. The largest number of mistakes made by my students in my classes is related to the use of past tense vs. present tense. That being said, i felt that the way this lesson presents the material is confusing and not indicative to the pace and layout that suits learners. The chapter on present tense verbs was far better constructed and easier to follow. This one feels like it was made complex for the sake of being complex.
