In this unit I learned about all the different teaching methods that exists like grammal-translation, audio-lingualism or the silent way, as well as a positive and negative of each one. What I take from these methods is that not one of them is the "correct" method, instead that the most important thing is when to use or apply each method. As a teacher, I can utilize different methods depending on the objective of the lesson and to keep things fresh and avoid becoming predictable or boring. I really am interested in applying the ESA, seems like a fun way to engage the students and get them speaking English fluently even if they're making mistakes, that way they can loose their fear to speak English and help them feel more confident. Another important thing that I learned is the way you correct a student and how to do it. It's not good to correct them as soon as the mistake is made, is better to let them flow and at the end letting them know their mistake. Also, that a mistake and an error are two different things. A mistakes is something that the student may realize he or she did it wrong and may even correct themselves immediately. On the other hand, an error is something repetitive and as a teacher one should correct the student without making him or her feel bad, just do it in a constructive way so the student can learn from it and correct it.
