Half Moon Bay, California TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
I have to admit, I thought this unit was the hardest so far. I am still somewhat confused on the uses and have mainly just been looking at the structure of the sentence to tell which is which. I would not have thought past tense would be difficult, since I didn't find the present tense to be difficult. I am hoping I will not struggle as much with the future tenses. The main takeaway from this unit would be that past continuous is subject + was/were +verb +ing. Past perfect is subject +had+ past participle. Past perfect continuous is subject +had+been+verb+ing. It is easier for me to remember the differences with these when it is written out like an equation. Some of the activate teaching ideas seemed really beneficial. I noticed a lot of the ideas used picture cards that students would then have to come up with either reasons a situation happened, what was happening in a picture, or what had just happened before the picture was taken. I also think I benefitted from task 7, which was explaining the difference between the different past tenses and well as some of the present tenses. This activity really helped me organize these ideas in my head and truly understand what makes them different.
