This unit provides us with useful information about intonation, stress and articulation as parts of phonology or the whole sound system. It is essential for us, teachers, to be familiar with this area since most of learners' native phonetic systems contain very different sounds from the ones used in the English language. In my opinion, it is easier for students to learn first about intonation, as they will focus on a sentece as a whole. Subsequently, they should get familiar with stress in particular words that make up the sentence. Finally, it is essential for students to know the individual sounds in the English language and how they behave when interacting with other words in sentence structures. We decide on how we facilitate this area for our students. As far as teaching techniques for pronunciation of individual sounds is concerned, we may perfectly use peer dictation, our own mouth, visuals, phonemes or tongue twisters in our class. Students should have fun learning how to pronounce and should not feel embarrassed or intimidated when learning individual sounds and practising their pronunciation.
