In this lesson, we covered why teachers plan lessons and how to go about the task. The three main reasons we plan lessons is to write down what students should learn by the end of the lesson, a aid to keep us on target of what we are doing throughout the day, and something to act as a record of what the class has done. As someone who has already taught a class, I can pin point one mistake I’ve made. I let the lesson be too scripted in fear that it wouldn’t flow if I didn’t. It’s important to avoid this because it doesn’t allow the class to be flexible and open to adaptation. The unit provides an in depth lesson plan to refer to when planning my own, including the phases of learning and the procedures.
