In this unit I learned about the qualities that makes a good teacher and basically it's about having a good personality and being fair with all the students. Also, this unit talks about the different kind of roles a teacher will take during a lesson. It is important to adjust depending on the activity of the class and deciding when to take what role. For example, sometimes a teacher has to be a model and correct the pronunciation of a word, other times a teacher has to take the role of a manager and sometimes just being a facilitator and let the students do a particular activity on their own while the teacher provides support to the students. Another thing that this unit empathizes is that there are different language levels among the students and different learners as well. It is important for the teacher to know the weakness of every student and work with him or her to attack that weakness and motivate the student while at the same time making them feel confident in their learning process. For this, it's really important to establish rapport and have a good interaction with all of them. Finally, this units discusses the difference between young and adults learners, their motivations and behavior. Adults student may be more motivated than young ones and have more attention span but at the same due to their positive or negative experiences they may be more difficult to fulfill their expectations.
