This unit focuses on expressing actions in the present. There are four aspects to the present tense; simple, continuous, perfect, perfect continuous. Each aspect can have an affirmative, negative or question form. The perfect tense is used to talk about activities/actions in the present for example I read. Present continuous refers to actions that are continuing at the moment for example I am learning. The present perfect relates the past to the present for example I have cooked. Finally, present perfect continuous in addition to relating the past to the present implies the activity is likely to continue in the future or activity was in progress for a length of time or both.
