From unit 11, I have learned the importance of receptive skills and how to teach receptive skills. Firstly, receptive skills, which means listening and reading skills, are equally important as productive skills, and there are two reasons of reading and listening, for a purpose or for entertainment. And while teaching receptive skills, it is important for a teacher to make a careful selection of texts, to choose topics seriously and to pre-teaching the vocabulary so that students can fully understand and interested in the topic.
