In this chapter it teaches the importance of productive skills and effective methods to use when teaching students. The two main productive skills are Speaking and Writing. Writing is one of the most ignored skills in the TEFL style of teaching because most teachers do not like the down time or quiet time associated with practicing writing skills. Most of the time writing skills are often given as homework and thus ignored by a majority of students. This however doesn't mean that it should be ignored, there are many ways to teach writing skills and still make it interesting for the class. For speaking and writing it is important for the teacher to engage the students in topics which they would be more interested in. If the class is interested in the topics given by the teacher they will be more motivated to speak and write.
