This unit has covered the fundamental knowledge about TEFL teaching, responsibilities of the TEFL teacher, and an overview of different types of students and their motivation.
We first studied the important characteristics a teacher should have. Some examples would be, being patient, supportive, kind, organized, and willing to motivate students. The students success is largely dependent on their motivation and argo the teacher.
I thought the breakdown between adult learners and younger learners was very interesting. While a younger child may more easily be able to learn the language, they may lack motivation because they are forced to take the class. Adult learners may struggle learning the language, but have more motivation as they are choosing to take the class.
