This first unit has made me think about my own teachers growing up. Now that I understand what makes a good teacher and what makes a bad one, I can separate those who were not doing their part as a good teacher. Although the unit states the characteristics of a good learner, in my personal opinion, all students have the ability to become good learners as long as the teacher can lead them there. As the saying goes, "there are no bad students, only bad teachers".
I also understand now that each teacher has their own teaching methods, while some may like being in control of the class nearly 100% of the time, some may prefer being more of an organizer. I think nowadays, students have a shorter attention span as technology advances and therefore need more hands-on learning rather than the 'sit and listen' type of learning.
