This unit explains some of the different types of material that teachers use in the classroom. Generally teachers will be provided with course books however as course books aren't tailored to the specific students in the classroom, teachers quite often need to omit, supplement, adapt or replace parts of the book. When using material not provided in the book the teacher can either use authentic materials which are real materials and media that a native speaker would use or created materials which are usually made or sourced by the teacher and can be crafted to the specific students and their needs.
