Lesson 9 was all about lesson planning. Lesson planning serves as an aid to planning, a working document, and a record. Lesson plans are a guide to follow while teaching to make sure that the teacher stays on target, reaching the goal of the specific learning objective for the set lesson. However, lesson plans are not extremely rigid. They allow for flexibility to adjust to students' needs and other items that present themselves throughout the course of the lesson. The lesson plan includes procedure, phase, and timing. Lesson plans are a necessary tool to ensure all items are covered and that the teacher accomplishes set goals, so that learning can occur and be tracked.
