Unit 16 was all about conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences containing 'if' (or 'when') which refer to past, present and future possibilities. The conditionals are zero, first, second, third, and mixed. Teaching ideas to help reinforce conditionals are split sentences, complete the conditional, chain conditionals, what a question!, and what would happen if...? This unit also covered reported speech versus direct speech and how to change between the two. Some helpful ideas for teaching this topic are activities such as intermediaries, reporting verbs, and media interviews. Unit 16 was a good unit to review because I have seen that conditionals can be quite tricky to master.
