Though it is not part of the elementary curriculum to formally test students, we still evaluate them in other ways and many of them take external exams on their own. I think that even though I don't give my students any formal progress tests, it is still important to get an understanding of their fluency, motivation, and general ability so that I can make lessons that cater to these them. For elementary students however, I believe that one of the most important parts of their studies of English is motivation rather than ability. Therefore, I want to help guide them to what motivates them to study English, rather than test their abilities. And so, in order to monitor their progress , I hope to create fun and interactive activities that will inspire them while also revealing to me how they are doing in their studies.
