There are 4 different categories you can find: absolute beginners, false beginners, adult beginners and young beginners. It is very important you make every single student feel comfortable during class, be aware of any need, be clear and always encourage them.
Teaching children might be difficult, in keeping their attention, but they are much more curious and motivated than adults, who can infect present a lack of motivation or self esteem. Many adults learning Business English, in fact, might not be interested in learning the language, but they were forced to do it by the companies requirements, so the teacher must try and make it interesting, without forgetting that any of the students go to class after a long days work, so they could be tired. Also the teacher mustn't forget you are not teaching them about Business, but you are teaching them English, so you could use your "ignorance" to your advantage.
You can also find monolingual classes. One of the advantages of being a whole monolingual class is they may have common difficulties, and they can help each other, but the teacher must be sure they don't switch to their common language.
On the other side, in multilingual classes, the main advantage is you don't have a common language, so students are forced to communicate using English, a disadvantage is the may not have common difficulties, so you'll might need to work more individually.
