Like present and past, future tenses create a number of challenges for learners due to the complexity of their construction. However, unlike the former, future tenses are further complicated by three additional forms outside the normal "core four," with going to future and present simple/continuous with future uses adding confusion for many learners.
Thankfully, the outline of the differences in the lesson helps a lot, particularly around the frequency of going to and present continuous and their more "firm" nature (especially with the latter not being used for predictions, as it has a lot of overlap with going to future). I had never considered that the present simple used in the future is essentially just utilized for formal functions such as timetables or impersonal clarifications. This has been the most informative grammar lesson so far.
