In this first unit we deal with the relationship between learners and teachers.
The different roles of a teacher are manager or controller, organizer, assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model and observer.
The role of the teacher depends on the type of activity and the result we wish to see from the students. We also see how important adaptability is for a teacher to switch between these roles.
In dealing with a good learner we deal with the age differences, understanding and respecting their culture and teachers need to remember and keep it in mind that English is a second language for them, and to understand that nervousness, behavioral problems just to name a few from the examples given can be expected and is simply put out and explained in this unit.
