In the future simple section, under the assumptions/speculations category of example sentences, the three example sentences given are: “That’ll be the bailiffs at the door.” “What will happen in next week’s episode?” “They’ll have to sell the house, I expect.” Reading that made me want to watch whatever show this is from. Why will they have to sell the house? What circumstances have led this mysterious ‘I’ character from the third sentence to expect a good old-fashioned house selling? Bailiffs at the door? Does that mean this is a British TV program? In my country (USA) they are more likely to send either a full SWAT team with anti-terrorist tactical gear and they’ll shoot your dog on the way in, or the will send Dog, the bounty hunter, and he will take your house before you even can sell. In any event, hopefully, by this time in September, I will have been teaching at my new school for nearly a month. Hooray for future tense!
