This lesson covered a variety of topics in pronunciation and phonetics but the two parts I will find most useful will be on articulation and stress and the forming of sounds that was covered in videos. Since I will be teaching K3, I will be teaching them phonics, but will not be getting into the phonemic alphabet. But the knowledge of where the sounds are formed in the mouth and how the shape the mouth was helpful. Also things like which letters/sounds use the vocal cords and which do not, so that I can have the children put their hands to their voice box to feel the sound.
Again, I don't know that I will have the opportunity to "teach" articulation and stress directly, but it is something they will pick up from me indirectly. Being sure to add stress to the right words when reading stories to them will help them learn the principals of stressing words for understanding content.
