There are three main aspects for teaching new language, vocabulary, grammar and functions. “Straight arrow” ESA approach is often used in grammar or vocabulary, “boomerang” or “patchwork” ESA structures are commonly approached in functions-based lessons. After selecting vocabularies, techniques and typical ESA lessons for vocabulary teaching, introducing grammatical structures and teaching language functions are demonstrated. This unit gives me a lot of ideas on how to make an appropriate language teaching lesson plan.
