This unit delved into the choices we, as teachers, need to make regarding the specific content of our classes. When we are introducing a new grammatical structure we need to consider questions such as, "What characteristics/usages/patterns of this grammatical structure will most support students' accurate use?"The emphasis on the ESA framework for lessons makes me reflect on the degree to which I plan good lessons with a logical flow 'by accident' and the degree to which having a structure such as ESA would support my structuring my lessons intentionally every time.
