In this unit, I learned the difference between authentic and created materials. It was useful to know how each can cater differently with both pros and cons. From my past teaching experiences, I loved using created materials such as crosswords, or flashcards. However, I think the use of authentic materials such as newspapers, or radio listening will be just as useful for students. It has inspired me to think about the balance of the usage of these materials in a teaching setting.
