Conditionals are used to speak about what could happen, what might have happened, what we wish would happen...
We use the zero conditional to talk about things that are always true.
We use the first conditional when we talk about real and possible situations.
The second conditional is used to talk about unreal or impossible things.
Third conditional sentences describe the past and something that didn’t happen.
It is possible for the two parts of a conditional sentence to refer to different times, and the resulting sentence is a "mixed conditional" sentence.
Reported speech is how we represent the speech of other people or what we ourselves say. In reported speech the tenses, word-order and pronouns may be different from the original sentence.
