Creating a lesson plan and its importance were highlighted in this unit. Provided was a sample of a lesson plan sheet and an example of it filled out. Lesson planning is important to keep the teacher on a schedule of what the students should be learning, but it should not be a rigid schedule. A lesson plan calls for flexibility. It is essentially a guideline for the teacher to use to keep a flow of the class. Important things to keep in mind are what you want the students to be able to comprehend at the end of the lesson, what problems you anticipate during the lesson in order to pay more attention, what activities you anticipate completing, and which aspects of your teaching will be highlighted and which you will want to improve. A lesson plan also carries importance for the future, as you can look back and see your notes of what was planned, what was completed, and what was understood.
