The biggest lesson I learn from this unit is be flexible with your lessons. Especially, with different cultures, backgrounds, ages, and motivations plays a major role in how successful your classroom will be. One important tip I learned from teaching beginners is not to correct all mistakes. Doing so will lower a student's self esteem and might stop them from participating out of embarrassment. I valued the tips given for teaching beginners. This includes trying to use as much English as possible, pairing a student with a stronger English knowledge with weaker ones, and avoid using their native language. I especially like the tips on teaching children. Teachers must speak slower and more pronounced. Additionally, use higher pitches and intonation with lots of repetition. Children love positive reinforcement. Keeping activities short and varied will help grab their focus. Finally, never issue threats or raise your voice.
