The First Conditional is an interesting structure, I feel have learnt when people want to talk about what could happen in the future. The first conditional looks as if as we use it when we talk about the possibilities that arise in the future. When I say ' If it is sunny tomorrow , I will have a picnic' , I am explaining what could happen. As opposed to the second conditional which is intended towards unreal situations. These include the second conditional (also called conditional type 2) is a structure used for talking about unreal situations in the present or in the future. An example of this is 'If i had a million dollars, I would buy a big house'.
