This unit was about the benefits and disadvantages of certain course materials used for teaching. I like when they indicated price as a consideration of what book to choose. I took an adult ed course in French and we were all asked to purchase a $50 grammar book. This was over 20 years ago so the price was quite daunting and not expected in an adult ed course. The teacher only used the book and no other materials. Our classroom work consisted solely of correcting the homework we had been given the week before. There was nothing conversational or creative going on in the class and week after week, more students dropped out. It was obvious to all of us that the teacher had no enthusiasm or interest in teaching.
