In this unit, we looked at the four present tenses : the present simple, the present continuous, present perfect and the present perfect continuous. we use present simple when we have habitual or routine actions, and when we have permanent situations and facts. We use present continuous to talk about an action that is in progress at the time of speaking, to describe developing situations and to emphasize very frequent actions. We use present perfect when we talk about finished actions and when we describe past actions with present results. We use present perfect continuous to describe a recent finished activity which has a present result.
