This unit covered sentence structure and the different parts of speech. Every sentence is constructed from words that have different classifications such as nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Simple sentences such as "The boy ran fast" only have a few elements that are easy to identify, while more complex sentences such as "The boy and his friends ran quickly to the large school" are composed of many different parts of speech. Complex grammar rules may be harder to teach without a full understanding how they function and how words correctly fit into a sentence. These grammar rules are not something that we think about every day, many of these terms I have not heard since grade school. I do feel that some of the more advanced ideas will take some time and practice to fully understand in order to become a better teacher.
