This unit focused on how to teach productive skills. The definition of productive skills are speaking and writing. With regards to the speaking, we learned about accuracy versus fluency and what types of activities are useful for each. With regards to writing, we learned that some areas of writing may be difficult to teach depending on the students native language such as the use of punctuations and layout. There is an emphasis on utilizing creative writing to encourage students to practice their writing in a less rigid manner.
