While I'm still striving to understand the use of tenses without having to think about it, the subject seems to be far reaching. I'll be coming back to this over and over. For the student learning English, having some knowledge of the tenses will allow them to make language choices that will be heard as natural and normal. For instance, saying, "I am going to the park later this afternoon." as opposed to "I am going to be going later to the park."
