Teaching pronunciation is difficult as most teachers are not taught a methodology and therefore lack the confidence to teach it. However most students are very concerned with their pronunciation so a good teacher has to try to integrate pronunciation into the lesson. Some try to do whole lessons on pronunciation while others teach pronunciation as and when required while still others slot a certain amount of pronunciation work into each lesson. I think making a time for pronunciation in each lesson may be most effective, particularly if many students in the class are concerned about their pronunciation. There are many aspects to pronunciation. Some of these are intonation, stress, lack of stress, sound joining, and linked speech. A tool to help with pronunciation is the phonemic alphabet. The phonemic alphabet is useful as there is only one sound associated with each symbol.
