In this unit I learned about teaching perceptive skills: reading and listening. Both are equally important and wherever possible we should try to include these skills in order to have a balanced lesson. While reading we can use different approaches to the text, depending on the purpose we want to achieve: for example, there are such "types" of reading as skimming, scanning, deduction and predictive. While choosing materials for the students, the teacher should take into consideration such factors as a topic, the level of interest in this topic, the level of students' language to understand the teacher.
