This unit firstly answers the question of what makes a good teacher, then continues on identifying and explaining the roles a good teacher will need to be familiar with in the classroom. The unit then covers the issue of what makes a good learner, factoring in several themes such as age, motivation, learning experience and behavioural problems. The unit highlights the importance of cultural sensitivity when in the classroom, then identifies the language level of english learners and roughly matches these tiers with the Common European Framework for languages. After discussing the idea of motivation in the classroom, this unit concludes with a final paragraph of what I believe summarises the main points of the unit.
After studying this unit I have learnt the importance of being an enthusiastic, sensitive, motivated and caring teacher, because if I have these qualities and I am a 'good teacher' then my classroom will be thoroughly enjoyable and interesting for my students who will in turn be 'good students'.
