In Unit 2, I learned about parts of speech that I was not so familiar with even though I am a native English speaker. I remember learning basic parts of speech like a noun, adjective, adverb, pronoun and preposition. However, I was not familiar with the various types of each part of speech like transitive or intransitive verbs or the five main types of adverbs: manner, place, time, degree and frequency. I also learned how complex the English language is because of the irregular parts of speech and the exception to the rule with some words. It is no wonder that English is a very challenging language to learn from non-native speaking people.
