This unit covered the different modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. We learned about the basic rules for auxiliary verbs and how they change the meaning of the verb and can define formality in a conversation. With regards to voices used in English, we learned there are 2 types : active and passive. Passive voices are those where the agent is not known or not important in the sentence. The unit also covered relative clauses both defining and non defining. Defining relative clauses are essential to the sentence whereas non defining relative clauses are non essential and always include a comma before the relative pronoun and at the end of the clause. The unit ended with discussing phrasal verbs which prove to be one of the hardest topics for students to grasp. There are 3 types of phrasal verbs: Inransitive, Transitive separable and transitive inseparable.
