Compared to past and present tenses, the future tense in English is more complicated. Similar to past and present, the same four exist: simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. However, future also is expressed with "be going to". Furthermore, present simple and present continuous are also used with future meanings.
The first four forms are similar in form to their past and present counterparts, using "will" to mark the future. The usages are quite similar as well, except future simple has specific uses to be careful of. It is used for facts, promises, spontaneous decisions and predictions without evidence. Usage is the main thing that separates it from "be going to" and the future usages of present tense.
