Speaking and writing are equally important, however, writing skills are often neglected in the English language classroom. Many traditional games can be adapted to use in with language learning in various stages of the lesson. A few of these games include: Jenga, hangman, four corners, and tic tac toe. When teaching writing, the teacher must pay attention to the students' handwriting, punctuation, and spelling. When teaching oral English, the teacher can use both accuracy and fluency activities. Accuracy activities often include drilling and gap fill exercises and are usually in the study phase. Fluency activities focus on creativity and experimentation with the language and are usually in the activate stage. Teachers can create interest in all activities by careful planning, providing sufficient practice for students before the activity, and by keeping the content relevant and purposeful.
