The differences between the lessons in the two videos were striking. The teacher's main differences were his attitude and organization. In the first lesson, he was incredibly dismissive of the students. He called them wrong often, complained about the amount of time they were taking, and emphasized the losers of the activity. In the second lesson, he praised the correct answers, helped struggling students, and emphasized the winners of the activity.
In terms of organization, the teacher in the second lesson explained activities better, checked understanding, and individually involved the students in the class.
As shown in these videos, teaching is not about getting through the lesson as quickly as possible, but making sure the teaching is for the students.
