This unit contains two videos showing two lessons where the same contents where studied, however one of them proved to be ineffective and the other one effective. In the first video we can see how important it is to involve our students in the engage phase, to keep a good attitude throughout the classes, plan our lessons to avoid improvisation, make sure students understand and motivate them above all, otherwise our classes can become boring and students can get unmotivated, confused and frustrated.
On the contrary, the second video lesson shows that by being motivators, enthusiastic, planning our lessons and giving good explanations and clear instructions we can make it easier to keep class control, achieve our objectives, as students understand, they feel encouraged, they are happy learning and more willing to participate, they have fun as they can communicate with their classmates in English, and they trust their teacher.
I think that we, as teachers, must get in our students shoes and understand the efforts they make to learn a language, and always be caring, supportive, motivating, provide our students with good feedback and use resources and techniques we have in our hands to make sure our students learn the best way possible, considering their needs.
