Within Unit 7 we developed upon the ways in which to teach a new language with a focus on teaching vocabulary. It explained and gave samples for which to teach a new language to students and discussed why learning new vocabulary is important to students. It emphasized the reasons and ways to choose certain vocabulary to teach your students based on the approach, appropriacy, frequency/coverage, and teachability. It explained what is important for the students to know regarding the meaning, use, word grammer, interaction, spelling and pronunciation. IT covered various types of ESA lesson types to introduce new vocabulary via patchwork lessons, straight arrow lessons, and boomerang style lessons.
