This unit explains why and how teachers plan their daily lessons and the sequence of their lessons over the week, month or semester to meet goals they have established for their students. The typical daily lesson should have a logical flow through each phase (ESA) and timing considered so that the full class-time is utilized well. Lesson plan examples are given and a blank lesson plan is provided for our use. The lesson plan is an aid to planning, a working document, and a record of what the class has done. It should be flexible, and it should provide opportunity to teach a balance of skills.
