Every sentence is a train composed of wagons. Parts of speech are wagons that deliver specific expressions between people. One important 'train car' for students to understand would be the difference between a transitive and intransitive verb. The students could memorize the two kinds with a catchphrase I've invented about trains representing sentences: "Transitive verbs lengthen the train. Intransitive verbs shorten the train."
