In this unit, the most common different teaching aids and equipment we as teachers can use to teach better lessons are covered. This is how with boards – traditional and interactive board- overhead projectors, visual aids, worksheets, cue cards, videos and dvds, dictionaries, course books, computers and other tools we can develop activities in our classrooms and make our lessons more dynamic. They can, for example, help us keep our students attention, make fun lessons, help us make our students comprehend the contents better, and encourage involvement and participation in class.
All these resources have of course, advantages and key things we must consider, in order to avoid improvising or getting boring and repetitive lessons. I think it’s very important we consider the aids and equipment to be used in our lessons since the moment we plan our lessons, and make sure we familiarize ourselves with the equipment and test beforehand, and always have a backup plan in case we need to change our strategies as we teach.
