As much as teachers need to be flexible in the way they present a lesson, it cannot be denied that planning is necessary especially for novice teachers. Lesson planning ensures that learning goals and class activities are aligned. Also, a lesson plan is a blueprint and a working document that guides teachers (and their substitutes) on how to go about a lesson/topic.
